BACK IN BUSINESS

Hello guys ! I am really sorry that I didn't post Virto-infos for so long , but you know , exams . I checked my company , everything was a mess ! Remember : try to log in at least once a day ! So , there are a couple of things we need to discuss in this episode . First one is a really phenomenon : cars. They are imossible to be sold . I tried ~1 month to sell at least one , but nothing ! Someone , playing in realm lien , asked me what he can do with those cars . In a market with only 14 pieces that can be sold , it's impossible to make a good deal .

Prices are looking good ! Everyone would buy one , or 100.000 :)

Buy with 2.000$ and sell with 2.000.000$ , sounds very interesting !

Another topic is the contest of directors ! I've been picked in this race of millionaires and it's really hard to compete with this players . In this moment , this are my results :

We need to reach the 5th place !!! A honorable 5th will be good , but we need 2.5 more billion . As I told you , I bought an oil well , but in Lien . And this could be a problem . The oil well is 15 billion worth . That could've bring us the 5th place . We need to focus more on the retail . More than one month to reach in top 5 .

Here we are , 2nd place in standard ( retail ) . This is actually good . The first place is untouchable , so we need to keep this position !

#RESPECT

Have you ever felt , in any game ( let's say Virtonomics ) or in real life , respected for what you have done ? It happens , sometimes , but mostly , people treat you with disrespect and hate . The moment you succeed in a competition with people , with more experience , with a bigger reputation , with notoriety gives you a state of comfort . Everyone says to respect your enemy / rival / competitor , but not all people do that . They just hate each other , because in one second of inattention , everything you have done , could be gone . Why am I writing this ?

One of "the very best" just wrote me something very interesting . I thought that this may be a good subject to discuss in this post . I won't give his name , because it's better to keep this in silence . He , one of the most influential players in both servers offered me #RESPECT , after reading my posts from this blog . He could just read and maybe steal some information and convert it in something amazing . But he didn't do that . He appreciated my content , even if my english skills aren't perfect and most important , even if we're competitors . What I have done for the most of the people who red the blog , is to offer them pure information about how to start their business in this game . It isn't that simple to comprehend every part of this game in a very short time . I'm am not an expert , but I am new , just like most of the you , reading this blog . Being at the start of the journey isn't that bad . You just need to know and choose the good way , not the bad one , that means to have a successful business enterprise . Writing about complex and hard parts of this game , won't be constructive for a new player . How could a new player be helped , reading something about politics , for example . No ! They need the basic stuff , the simple mechanics to realize that this business simulator could be understood .

I forgot to mention in the last episode , that one of the bad parts of my blog is the lack of social media connection . My name was posted in the forum , next to some very good players in this game . Even if you are new , you surely red in the forum and saw , that they post so many informations . But who heard something about me , Paulao ? Nobody . It was almost impossible to make people read my content . I don't have any advertising , I am not collaborating with other players . I just started from the scratch . But I always knew what respect means . Even if the competition is tough , keep this in mind , respect your competitor , be fair-play , because good things will happen to you .

WE HAVE DONE IT !

Guys , we made it , we won the 3rd place in the contest !

Prize : 15 game points .

Ok , first let's talk about the good things . I tried as much as I can to post a lot of content . Not very long - boring posts , but something interesting - short - and catchy . We saw that the giants of this game , had more experience in economy and better communication skills , that's why I went 3rd ( actually 4th ) . But we need to keep up !

We need to continue the story we started . More episodes will come . Surely more interesting ones , because we got the 15 points .

Now , the next strategic move is to buy a state enterprise !!! 

The bad parts , as you can see are my business english skills and the lack of experience in real life economy . It's hard to compete with players like them , but not impossible !

I WANT TO START MY PRODUCTION

OK . But where ? What is very important in the production is the cost ( More in Virtonomics Episodes 17 and 20 ) . A huge company with big sales must have low costs . In real life happens the same thing . The companies with a brand have most of their factories in Asia and Africa . But let's get back to Virtonomics , as we all know , not all countries in mary and lien are similar . So , I will make a top 3 from every server .

LIEN

First place , China . Two real life facts about China are , that China is the biggest producer of rice in the world and more than 135 million people have a salary of ~30$ a month !!!

Second place , Indonesia . The island Java is the world's most populous island in the world with a population of almost 140 million .

Third place , Vietnam . It is very interesting , that in Vietnam live ~90 million people and here are registered the most motorbikes in the world ( almost 40 millions ) .

MARY

First place , Nigeria . The average age in Nigeria is 18 with a population of more than 180 million people.

Second place , Mali . Less than 10% of the people from Mali earn more than 2$ / day .

Third place , Cote d'Ivoire . Cote d'Ivoire is the biggest producer of cocoa beans in the world ( 33% ).

As a student in economics , I am very interested in reading more and more about this domain of activity . The curiosity of everything new is very high at this age and I discovered this title from the "Simformer Platform" ( I added also the link on the name if you want to check ) . Most of you know how expensive the student books are . Starting from a couple of dollars the 100 pages books to more than 20-30 dollars , the really good ones. And they are so many . What I didn't found are practice courses of economics , because Virtonomics may be the only one , or maybe the best , online business multiplayer simulator . So I found this :

This is one the products that Simformer is selling . There are also other , but with a bigger price .

Yes , this 2 courses are the most interesting ( in my opinion ) . You really need to check the site . I will definitely try to buy one of these or both . But Heavy Steel is for sure my favorite .

How to make money in Virtonomics 

                     

So guyz , there are several ways to make money in this game . In my opinion , the fastest and easiest way to make money is by using stores . Here are the top 5 ways to make money , accessible for everyone.

1.

Stores can be opened or closed in 1 game week . They have not an expensive building price and can be easily managed . They don't have a very large number of employees , that means less salary expenses. There are only costs for advertising and rent . Advertising can be set by you and rent expenses aren't very high ( depending on the store , the bigger , the more you will have to pay ) . Rent depends on every city . Example :

The difference between an african store in the city center and a european store in the city center . Store rents depend also on the location . For example a store in the suburb has a lower rent price per sqm than a store , in the same city , in a trendy neighborhood .

2.

Factories are another great way to make money . They are a risky investition , but a good one . Having a factory with mass production units , that will be sold with more than the cost of production price , means profit . Of course , taxes need to be paid too , so make sure you make good profit . A good profit means over 100% than the production costs . Factories can produce goods that will be sold with 50$ or goods that will be sold with 1 million $ . Goods with a lower selling price are usually built in mass , so not 50 pieces , maybe 5000 pieces . The bigger the factory , the more goods can be produced . If you want to build a factory , ALWAYS build it in a country with very low salary per citizen . Example :

This are the in-game salaries in Nigeria ( Mary ) . Nigeria would be a good place to start your business with factories . There are also other countries with similar salary .

There are 3 key factors for the factory , salary , education level and population . The salary is important for the production . The costs will be lower , if the salary is low too . The education level is also low in Nigeria , that means that the salaries are low too . If the education is high , the salaries are high too and the wealth level of every family would also be increased . Product sales depend on the population . The higher the population , the more people will buy your products . Big population means big market size .

Farms . As I told you in the last episodes , farms are extremly important in the food industry , textile and other . Farms are same important as plantations or fishing bases . The biggest amount of bought product type is bread ( mary - foodstuff ) . Farms need a big investment at the beginning , but after that , profit will come . They need to be carefully managed .

Restaurants vs. service sector vs medical center vs autorepair shop . Definitely restaurant are more profitable . But , just like the farms , they need a huge amount of money spent on the equipment . Equipment is very expensive , so you can't buy thousands of pieces . The service sector has invaded almost every city in this game . It is hard to find a free spot to open a hairdressing salon , laundry or fitness center . Medical centers aren't that profitable as I thought . The will need high quality products to be sold . The salaries are very high . But if you manage to sell medical supplies with an extremly good price , the profit you will have will be amazing . Autorepair shops are like the service sector . They are everywhere . As I said , if you manage to find a good spot , you will dominate the competition .

A nice restaurant , visited by thousand of people daily ( every update ) will bring you some good profit . The secret is not to build the same restaurant in a city , which also has that type of restaurant . Be different , be special . People want to try other things too . Being the only restaurant in the city , that sells a specific menu for the people will be your advantage in the battle of restaurant supremacy .

Warehouse . The warehouses are an interesting way to sell products . The buy cheap and sell expensive method is a good move , because you have a huge amount of space . You also need to be careful , what object can be sold in a warehouse , Warehouses are also used to deposit different stuff , depending on category , transport units from warehouse to that place or from that place to the warehouse .

The most important thing would be water . Water can be then used in production , stores and restaurants . What can be produced with water ?

- food ( example bread )

- medical supplies ( example body cream with thermal water )

- perfume and many more.

New buildings will be then available . The swimming pools and balneoclimateric pools could be an positive impact on the market . Gyms can also sell water for the training people . Water can be found in different heights under the earth . Some countries have for example under 10m , other under 100m. In some countries can be found thermal water , in other fresh water or salty water . And this is how we come to the second new product , salt . Salt can be found in mines => new mine will be added , or water ( oceans for example ) and lakes , rivers . What can be produced with salt ?

- food ( example sausages )

- medical supplies ( cream for the skin )

- chemical industry ( cleaners )

Salt and water need to be supplied by INDEPENDENT SUPPLIERS .

Another section , that should be added could be tourism .

EXAMPLE : I want to visit the salt mine of X ( Player ) from Y ( country ) . People will need buses or trains to be transported , or taxi . Maybe they have their own car => if not , more cars will be bought , more money will be spent  . The public or private transport will be a boom in the market . Maybe they want to fly with airplanes => Building airports . In vacations , they will need to live somewhere in a different country , for example Greece . People then will need to rent a room or simply buy a house . This can be an extra industry , construction . Example : building of flats , appartments , big houses , castles .

The last thing , that should be added are countries . Even after the Sri Lanka update , new players are populating the countries and space will be lower , day by day.

This countries may be very interesting :

- Italy ( population more than 60 million , ~20 big cities , wealth level : medium - high )

- Romania ( population more than 16 million , ~10 big cities , wealth level low - medium )

- Austria ( population more than 8 million , ~5 big cities , wealth level high )

- Sweden ( population more than 9 million , ~8 big cities , wealth level very high )

- Portugal ( population more than 10 million , ~9 big cities , wealth level high )

- India ( population more than 1,25 billion , ~13 huge cities , wealth level low )

This image is exactly today's topic ! The road to succes in this game is very difficult , as I told you in the last episodes . Smart investments are required and the most important thing , time . The competition is tough , depending on the amount of products offered by this game . In the overprices episodes , we understood that we can't make deals with many natural resources , but there are some resource types , offered by the INDEPENDENT SUPPLIER . The independent suppliers offer you an unlimited amount of products . Very good ! Thank you ! That means , the game is not done !  The secret in this game is to build products , that require less resources , a low production cost and a good buying price .

LET'S USE OUR BRAINS IN A CONSTRUCTIVE WAY

If 500 people are producing clothes in your country , you don't start the production right there . You need to analyse first .

In my opinion , a good start will be a production , that requires only 1 resource . There can be used more than 1 too , but they need to be cheap . Be very careful by choosing the production !

Example : 

Farms . Farms are maybe the most important production in this game . The only production unit you need is grain . 

Grain is very cheap and you can easily afford it . Now , here comes the interesting part . What kind of farm should you build ? Do you want to produce milk , wool , meat , eggs , leather ? Or you want just to raise animals and sell them ? Both ways are good investments , but you will need the animals to start your farm . And this is how people sell them :

Wow , "smart boys" everywhere . They hate competition so much , that they set an OVERPRICE on this animals . Look at the prices of cows , impossible . Maybe if they see this post , they will change it ...

So , now it's time to use our brains . Start a risky , very expensive business ? Or analyse the market more ?
